Burcu Islam Fani

EBRD

Burcu Islam Fani is an Associate Director in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Food and Agribusiness team. She brings over 20 years of experience in investment banking, with a strong focus on development and sustainable finance in emerging markets.

At the EBRD, Burcu is responsible for originating and leading the execution of investments in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production, packaging, and retail across the Bank’s countries of operation, with a primary focus on Türkiye.

Before joining the EBRD in 2012, she held roles in project finance at Akenerji in Istanbul and in investment banking at WestLB AG in New York.

Burcu holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Beloit College in Wisconsin and a master’s degree in International Banking and Finance from Columbia University in New York.
