Miljan Ždrale
EBRD
Miljan Zdrale is the EBRD’s Regional Head for Central Europe, covering Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia, and is based in Zagreb.
Miljan joined the EBRD in 2002 through the International Analyst Programme in London, initially working on municipal and transport infrastructure, and Real Estate projects. In 2006, he transitioned to the Food and Agribusiness team within the Corporate Group.
In 2014, Miljan was appointed Regional Head of the Food & Agribusiness team and relocated to the Belgrade office to lead investments in the consumer and retail sectors across Central and South-Eastern Europe. Under his leadership, the team built a strong regional franchise, delivering €200–300 million in annual investments and managing a portfolio exceeding €2 billion.
Miljan brings extensive multi-sector experience, particularly in equity and M&A financing. He has served as a non-executive director in several local, international, and private equity-backed companies, and has developed strong relationships with leading regional and global corporates and private equity funds.
He holds a BSc/MSc in Finance, and has completed executive education programmes at Saïd Business School (Oxford) and Harvard Business School. He is fluent in Serbian/Croatian, English, and Russian.
