Petar Štefanić (1973) graduated in Philosophy and Linguistics from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and has been a journalist for 18 years. He started his career in 2001 on the Croatian radio as a member of the editorial team for domestic politics. He edited and directed shows “U mreži prvog” and “Poligraf”, and in 2003 he began editing broadcasts for the TV show “Nedeljom u dva”. In 2005, he got a permanent position with the Croatian National Television (HTV), as an editor and host of the show “Otvoreno”. In the years that followed, he continued to edit and run a number of shows, mostly political magazines (“Post scriptum”, “Dossier.hr”, “Spektar”, “Labirint”). In parallel, he also worked as a journalist in HTV’s “Dnevnik”, a reporter in “Latinica”, as well as edited and presented the evening news. He focused on the political life in Croatia and often reported from the Government and Parliament. In 2016, he switched from HTV to N1 Television, where he soon became one of its trademarks. He began to host the press program, refreshed and expanded the guest corps to various spheres of the Croatian public life. So far, he has hosted many guests from the world of politics, entertainment and acting, and his shows are often quoted in other media. In addition to hosting three shows a week, Petar also works in a variety of other formats, from small news, reporter assignments to engagements on “Dnevnik” and the N1 Live Studio. Apart from appearing on the small screen, he is often seen as the Master of Ceremony of various conferences. Throughout his career, he has led over 50 conferences, notably the “Wind Days” and “Entrepreneur’s Day”. His research instinct, laid-back approach and excellent sense of humor will disarm any audience, be it a financial or a fashion event. He loves hiking, biking, animals, good food and music. In his spare time, he shows a particular passion for sports and filmmaking, and will never say no to a good party of PlayStation and cold craft beer.
