Tomislav Čizmić, MS in Economics, has over 20 years of experience in managerial and executive positions in both general management and turnaround management in multicountry and multicultural environment.

He joined Mercator Group in 2013, first as a Management Board member and later as the President of the Management Board at Mercator Croatia.

In September 2014, he was appointed to manage the most challenging project at the company Mercator: integration and reaping of synergies between Mercator and Agrokor in five markets. Working with third-party international consultants, he managed fifty different teams, or more than one thousand people, in the processes of integration and reaping of synergies in key business functions across eleven business areas.

Working as deputy general manager, at the start of 2016, he managed the development of the new business model for Mercator Serbia. He then continued his career as vice president in Slovenia where he managed all projects at the level of Mercator Slovenia.

In 2017, he was appointed Mercator Group’s President of the Management Board. Under his leadership, the Management Board has successfully restructured the company – the largest regional retailer.
